Alaska Native Stroke Registry Goals
The ANSR project is committed to increasing understanding of stroke in Alaska Natives with the goal of improving stroke care, particularly in rural/remote settings. Specifically, ANSR aims to:
- Conduct a descriptive study of stroke in Alaska Native People
- Create a clinical registry for surveillance, case management and quality of care data collection
- Study the epidemiology of stroke in the Alaska Native People
- Begin capturing all acute stroke events after October 1, 2005, 100 to 120 anticipated strokes cases per year
- Improve management of stroke in rural settings by developing culturally appropriate interventions that improve outcomes and access to care
- Improve management of stroke at the clinical level
- Improving patient outcomes
